Humboldt Penguin Project
Wags and Menace Make A Difference Foundation is proud to help fund this incredible project. Humboldt Penguins rely on burrows that they dig into the soft substrate of guano (poop), that have built up for centuries at breeding sites. Harvesting of guano has destroyed the breeding sites of many Humboldt Penguins and the underlying ground is too hard for these penguins to excavate new burrows. We are working with our partners, Punta San Juan, in Peru to develop, create, and install nest boxes at these sites.
