Oscar

Oscar came to us from a responsible private owner who fell on hard times. Presenting with an old injury to one of his navicular bones, CHR’s medical team treated Oscar with Osphos and joint injections. These treatments enabled Oscar to live on pasture with other horses free of pain, however, he was not yet appropriate for a riding assessment. Later on, our veterinarian identified Oscar as a great candidate for Arthramid, an injectable gel used for treating joint lameness, which he had seen success with in other horses like Oscar. After two rounds of treatment with Arthramid, Oscar improved dramatically and was ready to be assessed as a part of CHR’s riding program! As we had suspected early on, Oscar displayed a wealth of knowledge under saddle, and he is now able to walk, trot, and canter comfortably carrying a rider. Thanks to the Wags and Menace Make a Difference Foundation, Oscar was able to receive the specialized treatment he needed to live up to his full potential. With a new pep in his step, Oscar is on the fast track to finding his forever home! To learn more about how you can help make a difference please go to www.wagsandmenace.org.
